Requirements

Education: College or higher, electrical engineering English reading and speaking ability 3 years working experience or above

The following work experience would be an advantage (but not necessary):

- Experience with PLC control

- Experience with diesel engine control

- Experience with generator control

- Experience with medium voltage equipment (transformers, switchgear)

- Experience with maintenance and repair of electrical machines

- Experience with analog control systems

- Experience with low voltage control equipment

Job description

The electrical service engineer goes to our customer’s facilities to perform maintenance, check, repair or testing on diesel driven dynamic UPS. The job is for 80% outside and for maximum 20% in office.

The engineer is responsible to perform regular maintenance on electrical machines, medium voltage equipment and control panels, perform electrical repairs, troubleshooting of failed components, downloading new PLC software, using PLC software to monitor system operation. The job routinely includes amongst other task: changing of filters, changing of carbon brushes, regreasing, and various tests and checks. The electrical engineer also assists the mechanical engineer with his job if so required; this may include the changing of electrical machines and the changing of bearings or solving of minor mechanical issues.

Personality

A certain amount of flexibility in work attitude is necessary; working hours and working conditions may not be ideal. The work requires that people have to be able to work alone, but should also have the attitude to share the knowledge with others. The person should be self-steering and independent when on a job outside the office. Since the equipment is generally of high importance to the customer a feeling of responsibility and ability to work under pressure are essential.
