Business and Functional Analyst
Role Description - Summary:
Part of the Corporate Banking
applications domain
Responsibilities/Tasks:
· Identifies
and documents the challenges associated with localization. Presents these
challenges to various stakeholders.
· Leads
stakeholders, through workshops, to define phased roadmap for addressing the
localization challenges (i.e. identify how many phases to design; what
‘business products’ should be localized during which phases; risks associated
with each phase and how the overall risks reduce as the phases get implemented)
· Works
closely with the IT Architect to identify functionality required for such
products (that are being phased-in for localization) and the respective IT
applications being used for this functionality.
· Supports the
IT Architect in developing the technological options and evaluating these
options for their impact on the business.
· Lead
creation of RFPs, if and as required – including the assessment criteria
· Support the
evaluation of such RFPs, as required.
· Support the
assessment of alternative local technologies that can be deployed for the above
infrastructure.
· Work with
delivery colleagues to identify the resource and time estimates.
· Take
ownership of the end-to-end business analysis of AS-IS and TO-BE corporate bank
flows.
· Must provide
a going-in position hypothesis for COTS or in-a-box applications that can address
the challenges at hand.
· Responsible
for discovering, promoting, and reusing reusable functional components and
services.
· Review and
validate design documentation produced by project teams.
· Support
conformance to the Target State Enterprise Architecture for a specific business
unit or function as defined in the Target Operating Model.
Experience/Exposure:
· Experience
(10+ years) in Business and Functional Analysis and experience as a BFA in a
large financial services enterprise working on complex mission-critical IT
initiatives.
· Experience
(7+ years) in working on core banking, payments systems and transaction banking
systems.
· Experience
(7+ years) and a track record of leading software development teams as BFA.
· Experience
and knowledge of the global financial services industry, sufficient in-depth
understanding of corporate and transaction banking in China.
· Proven
ability to influence the strategic direction of IT solutions across one or more
areas.
· Ability to
work in a fast-paced environment, with competing priorities to maintain a focus
on the delivery of high quality well-architected solutions.
· Must be
fluent in conversational Mandarin, in addition to being fluence in business
English.
Education/Certification:
· Degree from
an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or
Baking or Business or an IT-related discipline.
· Good to
have: Certification in Business Analysis.
