The Opportunity
We are looking for FEA Development Engineer to join our team. On this position you will:
• Be responsible for advanced modeling of virtual tires to optimize tire performance for traction, handling, wear and other key performance areas before experimental tires are built and tested.
• Participate actively in a team responsible for development of tires for vehicle manufacturers (Original Equipment) and replacement market.
• Develop, validate and implement new prediction technologies and methods in the design process.
To join our team you will need:
Education:
Minimum Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Languages:
Fluency in English. French/German language skills are an asset.
Experience:
• Experience running Finite Element Modelling / analysis during university.
• Work experience of at least 2 years in Structural Mechanics and Finite Element Modeling is preferred.
• Experience combining experimental applications and numerical modeling in structural engineering domain would be of advantage.
• Experience in product development is an advantage.
• Experience with composites and viscoelastic materials in structures is an advantage
IT, Soft Skills & others:
• Good knowledge of nonlinear structural mechanics/dynamics and/or fluid dynamics.
• Computational mechanics and in-depth knowledge of Finite Element Analysis.
• Working knowledge of ABAQUS, ANSYS or other commercial FEA solvers.
• CATIA V5 skills.
• Basic applied statistics, Design of Experiment and multi-regression modeling.
• Development and application oriented.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in team as well as independently.
• Self-motivated.
• Sense of responsibility and urgency.
