Introduction to International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) China Regional Research Center (RRC)

The ICGEB China RRC (https://www.icgeb.cn) is found jointly by China National Center for Biotechnology Development (CNCBD), China Medical City (CMC), and ICGEB (an intergovernmental organization that has nearly 70 Member States supporting over 40 state-of-the-art laboratories and promotes sustainable global development through research, training and technology transfer to industry in the field of biotechnology; https://www.icgeb.org). The ICGEB China RRC and CMC are located in Taizhou (Jiangsu Province, China) where there are over 1200 well-known pharmaceutical companies, including 14 multinational companies such as AstraZeneca, Nestlé, Takeda, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Aurobindo.

The ICGEB China RRC aims to become an internationalized center of advanced research and innovation. Currently, the RRC focuses on the development of novel vaccines, biologics and diagnostic methods.

Job responsibilities

The laboratory of Dr. Yan Ge (Principal Investigator; ORCID iD: https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2129-9438) employs multidisciplinary approaches to elucidate the molecular networks underlying autoimmune response and specific clinical traits of autoimmune disease in humans, and leverages these new insights to develop novel therapies for autoimmune disease. Our research projects are highly interdisciplinary and collaborative, spanning the fields of immunology, genetics, drug development, and bioinformatics.

The Ge laboratory is seeking a Research Associate to fulfill the following responsibilities under the guidance and supervision of the PI:

1. Develop, conduct and manage research projects on autoimmune disease and drug development.

1. Establish new experimental techniques and systems.

2. Supervise and mentor the research activities of the junior staff and students in the Ge laboratory.

3. Apply for research awards and grants, and assist the PI with grant applications.

4. Take part in the RRC’s training, research, and capacity-building activities.

5. Perform other work-related duties, as may be required.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a Ph.D. Degree in the fields of Life Sciences, Biotechnology or other related areas. Previous research experience in drug development and a proven track record of research excellence would be advantageous.

Salary

Up to CNY300000 per annum
