Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct desk research based on needs from various environmental health projects, including WASH-related health impacts, lead (Pb) exposure, and children’s environmental health risks.
• Support the design and implementation of public health impact assessment research, monitoring and evaluation studies, using qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Support the design of evaluation studies, including protocols, questionnaires, sampling plans, and implementation plans.
• Coordinate study implementation, ensuring ethical clearance, liaising with market research companies in collaborating countries, troubleshooting, and maintaining frequent communication with all necessary staff to ensure high-quality project implementation.
• Support high-quality research reports and writings, including informative data analytics and appealing data visualizations.
• Maintain quantitative and qualitative datasets for ongoing projects and writings.
• Conduct analysis as necessary and directed, using advanced statistical approaches.
• Produce visually appealing data representations for use in reports or other technical writings and for use in the media.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and drafts of academic papers as provided by the team.
3. Communication and Collaboration
• Work closely with Vital’s strategic communication colleagues to produce knowledge materials.
• Support colleagues in producing reports, presentations, and other dissemination material on key research insights and findings, to donors and
other stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education & degree -
Master’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Epidemiology, or other relevant major. Three years relevant experience in statistics, research, data visualization
Skills & abilities -
• Professional oral and written proficiency in English and Chinese.
• Strong understanding of public health surveillance in China.
• Strong foundational understanding of public health principles, especially epidemiology, analysis, terminology, and exposure assessment;
• Excellent epidemiologic and data analytic skills, including the ability to use statistical software and GIS packages (e.g., R, Stata, SAS) to calculate weights and conduct multivariate analyses.
• Proficiency in statistics and quantitative research methodologies; strong statistical competencies that can be applied to environmental health data.
• Prior experience working in government and/or in collaboration with governmental health or environmental ministries preferred;
• Prior work experience with international non-governmental organizations preferred;
• Experience conducting public health surveillance;
• Experience managing complex data flows;
• communication abilities, encompassing verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, are necessary.
• Attention to detail and effective organizational skills.
• Flexibility and the capacity to collaborate with diverse, international teams and work on different time zones.
• Self-motivated individual with excellent follow-through and resourcefulness.

• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Experience:
• Experience in research and supporting projects from inception to conclusion.
• Experience in data analysis software such as: SPSS, STATA, R, Python, Tableau, NVivi or Atlas required.
• Experience in generating research content for technical reports, white papers, policy briefs, factsheets, and academic writings for audiences of varied technical knowledge.
• Experience in representing data and information using visuals such as graphs, charts, maps, and more.

3. 沟通与协作
• 与卫健策略的战略传播团队密切合作,制作相关的知识宣传材料;
• 协助团队为合作伙伴及其他利益相关者制作报告、PPT及其他材料,用于呈现关键研究成果和重要发现。
任职资格:
教育背景:
具有公共卫生、环境卫生、流行病学或其他相关领域的硕士学位,且拥有三年及以上统计分析、研究工作及数据可视化方面的实际经验。
技能要求:
• 具备优秀的中英文口头和书面表达能力;
• 深入了解中国公共卫生监测的现状和体系,具有扎实的公共卫生基础知识,尤其是在流行病学、数据分析、相关术语及风险暴露评估领域;
• 熟练掌握流行病学分析与数据处理技能,精通 R、Stata、SAS 等统计软件以及 GIS 软件,具备计算权重和执行多元分析的能力;
• 能熟练应用统计学和定量研究方法,将统计技能高效应用于环境健康的数据分析;
• 拥有政府机构工作经验或与政府卫生/环境部门合作的经验优先;
• 有国际非政府组织(INGO)工作背景者优先;
• 具备公共卫生监测和复杂数据流管理的实际经验;
• 出色的表达与沟通能力,能够以口头和书面形式清晰传递信息,具备优秀的人际交往能力;
• 高效的规划和执行能力,能够管理多项任务并在截止日期前完成工作;
• 适应性强,能够灵活应对跨团队合作需求,并适应跨时区工作环境;
• 积极主动,擅长跟进任务和解决突发问题;
• 能与政府部门和利益相关方建立有效的合作关系,推动伙伴关系发展;
