In this role, you will utilize your electronics design skills to design, develop and test battery monitoring units and Battery management units (BMU) for next generation consumer electronic products. Responsibilities include designing electronic circuits, producing detailed design analysis, selecting electronic parts and integrated circuits to meet the performance targets. You will work with suppliers to develop custom parts where needed and design test methodologies to verify the battery management unit design!
Additionally, the candidate will work closely with Contract Manufacturer’s EE team, and take a lead role in driving those teams to achieve our validation and manufacturing goals with a very high bar of quality.
Description
• Design BMU from concept to mass production focusing on detailed board level design.
• Collaborate with multi-functional partners (Product Design, System EE, Cell Engineering, Firmware, Algorithms, etc.) to ensure the product is developed on time and on budget.
• Be the technical owner at Contract Manufacturer’s site to support various engineering builds. Represent the EE team in a cross-functional team environment.
• Drive resolution of cross-functional issues including those related to architecture (performance, power consumption, thermal behavior), production (quality, failure analysis, manufacturing), and development (schematic design, PCB layout, and overall system integration).
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience in analog and/or power electronics design
• Hands-on experience with the system development process including concept creation, schematics and board development, as well as board and system bring up and debugging
• Self-starter with excellent time management skills and curious spirit
• Proven ability to work independently under high pressure and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
• Excellent documentation and communication skills in both English and Chinese
Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience with high volume manufacturing
• Good understanding of inter-module communications protocols (I2C, SMBus, SPMI, etc.)
• Knowledge of scripting (Python, Shell, Unix, MATLAB, etc.) for test automation and data analysis
