Job Responsibilities
* Bring-up, maintenance and management of image quality lab, including lighting
system, chart design, test scene setup, automated image capture system and
etc.
* Support camera image quality validation throughout development cycle of Apple
cameras, especially at module and system level, covering NPI and early MP
* Comprehensively characterize and quantitatively assess camera performance
and image quality
* Feedback and contribute to refinement and improvement of camera design and
process
* Develop image processing algorithm for image quality metrics
* Incubate new metrology for next-generation Apple products and support
technology transfer from lab to production sites
* Deliver presentations of results to senior management
Required Experience
* Ability to work well in a collaborative, highly cross-functional and fast paced
environment.
* Good English written and verbal communication skills
* Deep understanding of image quality metrics and evaluation methodology
* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
* Strong Matlab/python programming skills on digital image processing, data
analysis & visualization
* Familiarity with camera components and functions
* Basic knowledge of camera ISP pipeline and 3A
* Experience with automation of data acquisition
* BS in CE/EE/Physics or other engineering/scientific majors
Preferred Experience
* Knowledge of megapixel CMOS image sensor technology, lens selection and
qualification
* Experience in prototyping and deploying algorithm in C/C++/Lua
* Experience in mobile camera industry
* Experience with objective camera bench testing and subjective image quality
analysis
* MS/PhD in EE, Optics, Color Science or equivalent
