Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Hub buyer with the Procurement organization within ADM China. The location of the role is Shanghai or Beijing, Tianjin, Pinghu, Dalian, Xiangtan, China. The Hub buyer will implement strategy through market intelligence, sourcing, supplier selection,contract negotiation and supplier performance management, using ADMs 7-step sourcing process. He/she will also develop processes to ensure stakeholder engagement and data-centered decision making. He/she will prepare non-disclosure agreements, requests for quotes/proposals, negotiate master contract and present business cases to key stakeholders specific to a category.

Your Responsibilities

1.Timely and accurate review of all submitted PRs (purchase requests) and conversion to POs (purchase orders) across all ADM locations – responsible for ensuring compliance with the Global Non-Commodity Procure-to-Pay Policy

2.Understanding critical items and services and developing and implementing strategies to mitigate supply risks.

3.Partnering with PR creators across all locations to provide on-time, robust communication.

4.Support the deployment of the Hub & Spoke purchasing infrastructure in China. This will involve significant interaction with Global Procurement, and all locations, and require constant collaboration with location stakeholders to achieve a world-class purchasing model.

5.Assisting in developing KPI’s to track Procure-to-Pay metrics and collaborate with Global Procurement and location colleagues to drive continuous improvement in these areas.

6.Communicate approved purchase orders to suppliers and overall management of relationships with key suppliers – SRM related to delivery, quality, price, etc.

7.Manage the supply base of the locations developing mutually beneficial relationships with key suppliers.

8.Identify and present opportunities for cost reduction. Drive sourcing projects and negotiations with local and regional suppliers as needed.

9.Partner with the Shared Services team to ensure timely payment of supplier invoices and work to address P2P issues which may cause bottlenecks for invoice processing.

10.Work with locations to ensure maximization of strategic/contracted supplier agreements.

Your Profile

1.Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Economics, Finance or related field is required

2. 3+ years of experience in procurement, MRO& MRO Service category is a plus.

3.Self-driven team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills (collaboration across functions, cooperation with external partners and suppliers)

4.Understanding of Procure-to-Pay process, purchasing intelligence, able to set up priorities and manage aggressive assignments.

5.Technology adept (systems, operating platforms)

6.Experienced in adapting e-Sourcing concepts in procurement activities. Proficient in using relevant e-Sourcing tools.

7.Fluent/Proficient in English is a must

8.Skilled in cost/benefit analysis, negotiation and alternative decision making.

9. Experience in Food/Nutrition, Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry is a plus.

10.CIPS or CPSM certification is a plus
