Job Responsibilities:
1. To perform surveys, predominantly of existing ships, in accordance with Lloyd's Register Rules and Regulations and other applicable standards.
2. To deal with statutory surveys and certification and where applicable liaise with Flag or Port State Surveyors.
3. To ensure reporting in accordance with corporate requirements and timescales to achieve targets set for key performance indicators.
4. To discuss/ present the deliverable with the external client and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
5. To assess/ recommend the time/value of the work to be undertaken for an external client within an agreed fee/cost structure.
6. To assist in service delivery improvement by communicating internal/external client feedback as appropriate
7. To conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.
8. To pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
9. To participate in and contribute to specific job training as directed.
10. To give guidance to other employees, as appropriate, and disseminate information to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application
Job Requirement:
1. Bachelor's degree in Marine/Mechanical engineering or equivalent level of qualification would be preferred.
2. A good understanding of marine classification, marine repairs, periodical, statutory, materials and equipment surveys as necessary.
3. Enthusiastic and focused on client service delivery.
4. Team member with good communicative skills.
5. Ability to recognise and appreciate differing cultural, commercial and technical viewpoints.
6. Ability to work under pressure and independently.
7. Committed to constant improvement and the ability to implement changes as required.
8. Flexible, keen to learn and develop new skills.
9. Commercially aware.
10. A sound awareness of Corporate Health and Safety policies and procedures, and an ability to be proactive in this area.
