General Description:
Reporting to the Director of IT Operations, the Windows Desktop Engineer will be responsible for providing design, deploying, configuring and support of desktop technologies in client's distributed environment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience with Intune and Windows 10/11 deployment. In addition, they will be responsible for SCCM server management, application management, Microsoft security patch management, Microsoft 365 updates, and building and updating our Windows standard image. This candidate must be a team player but as well as being comfortable working on its-own.
Essential Functions of the job:
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, test and execute Mac/OS and Windows 10/11 operating system deployments using Intune AutoPilot.
• Responsible for maintaining periodic O/S upgrade cycles by testing and deploying O/S upgrade task sequences in SCCM
• Assist with designing and deploying Intune configurations, policies and settings for Mac OSX and Windows 10/11 endpoints in a SCCM co-management infrastructure
• Maintenance of Intune policies, baselines, and conditional access rules for Mac/OS and Windows 10/11
• Creation and maintenance of Azure AD security groups for endpoint management
• Responsible for maintaining the Azure Virtual Desktop environment
Technical skill
• Troubleshoot various issues with Windows 10/11 and applications
• Develop automated processes using Powershell
• Create deployment packages for Configuration Manager and Intune
• Test, plan and execute upgrade of Windows 10/11 and core Office 365 applications
• Expert levels with Windows 10/10 Client configuration and policies
• Proven engineering experience with Windows 10/11, SCCM and Intune
• Familiar with Windows 10/11 servicing model and update cycles
• Identify system problems and recommend solutions to improve processing efficiency and stability.
• Experience with the modules of SCCM with a major emphasis on administering Intune.
• Additional duties include Platform Patch Management, Software Packaging, Reporting, integrations, monitoring updates via Automatic Deployment Rules (ADR), Update Groups, Deployment packages, and other methods.
• Day to day administration of O365, Intune, and Azure AD including policy and configuration changes
• Demonstrated experience with SCCM/MECM for patching, OS deployment, application deployment, driver updates, BIOS updates, and configuration baselines
• Experience with Desktop Virtualization solutions is a plus (Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix XenDesktop,…)
Education/Certifications/Experience:
• 4+ years of experience in a Systems Integrator or within a large organization (>2000 users) implementing complex IT solutions
• 6+ years of customer interaction in a consultant, technical delivery or technical leadership role.
• Expert knowledge in the following technology areas:
• Deploying Windows 10/11 in large enterprise
• Cloud Security and Identity skills (IAM,MFA,ATP, Intune, Endpoint Manager, conditional access)
• Will have experience from all phases of the development lifecycle and of formal approaches to development (Agile, MSF), project management (Prince II, PMP) and service management (ITIL).
• Solid problem-solving skills required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong business acumen.
• Microsoft Technical certifications in relation to Microsoft365 and Azure
• Experience in desktop virtualization platforms (AWS Workspace, VMWare, Citrix)
Computer Skills: Windows 10/11, Office 365, AWS, Intune, Mac OSX, Active Directory
Other Qualifications: Service Now, Jira, or other ITSM tools.
