Job Description
Dr. Ya WANG’s group is looking for a researcher in the field of biomedical materials to strengthen the research activities with a focus on targeted treatment of cancer and chronic diseases, especially in connection with brain tumor and diabetes. The research group offers a stimulating work environment with national and international collaborations and flexible working methods.
The ideal candidate will participate in academic research activities under given projects within the Food Science and Technology Programme at UIC. The main job tasks include research planning, experiment implementation, article writing, etc. The designated experiments are potentially related to materials synthesis & characterization, micro/nano manufacturing, drug release kinetics, and cell & animal tests. This is a position with a contract term of 12 months and the actual starting time can be slightly modified depending on the candidate’s availability.
Eligibility
Candidates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Sciences, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Microengineering, Biology, Medicine, or Pharmaceutical Science are encouraged to apply. Prior research experience with targeted drug delivery systems (such as hydrogels, microneedles, nanoparticles, etc) and publication experience with strong academic records will be given priority. Strong English language skills are an asset. The candidate is expected to be self-motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic with academic research. Qualified candidate may be also recommended for postgraduate (MPhil/PhD) programme application for the academic year 2025-26.
