Role description: The Speech and Language Therapist provides consulting, assessment and learning support to students and families.
Key working relationships:
• Reports to the LF Director
• Internal partnership: therapists, customer service center
• External partnership: families, schools and teachers
Qualifications sought:
• At least Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Language, Master’s Degree is preferred
• Appropriate licensure or certification from the applicant’s country
• Clinical training and speech therapy experience including clinical practice with school-aged children
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Chinese is highly desirable
• Organized and comply with deadlines
• Multicultural, responsible, strong work ethic, self-motivated, and ability to work independently
Responsibilities:
• Provide speech and language therapy treatment and consultation to families and schools
• Conduct initial intake meetings, observations and screenings
• Administer and interpret diagnostic assessments to identify student need in regards to speech and language therapy
• Draft reports with detailed interpretation of the findings and recommendations to be implemented in home and school settings
• Develop Individualized Education Program (IEP) plan with teachers and parents
• Develop treatment plan, keep therapy records/progress notes
• Work independently and also able to collaborate with other specialists in a multidisciplinary team
• Build partnership with families, teachers and schools
• Provide professional development on speech and language therapy related topics
• Develop & provide summer & winter programs with other therapists
• Develop & implement group programs based on marketing needs and LF’s strategic development
